Role Overview
The Deli Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day deli operations, ensuring high standards in food safety, product quality, and customer service while driving sales performance. Leads and develops the team, manages stock and inventory controls, and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, standards, and commercial results.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring all HACCP and food safety standards are met, and that all documentation is up to date
Handling stock and waste control of the Deli products
Maintaining inventory levels of food and non-food items such as paper goods, condiments, and cleaning
supplies
Bringing forward new ideas to increase sales and standards within the department
Managing the day-to-day management of the Deli operations and the employees to improve sales
performance
Supervising employees in various duties such as cooking, serving, packaging, and operating counters
Managing product storage, maintenance, and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilage
Ensuring that products are properly labelled with prices and dates
Dealing with customer queries and complaints to the highest possible standards
Encouraging an atmosphere of good Customer Service and teamwork
Completing any back office administrative duties as required
Assisting in preparation of inventory and sales budgets
Completing and reporting any variances on Inventory stock counting
Provide training to staff on company policies and sales guidelines.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in food retail / deli / fresh food environment
Proven responsibility for food safety (HACCP) compliance
Hands-on stock control, waste management and inventory handling
Experience supervising or leading a team
