Deli Assistant (Full-Time & Part-Time) at SPAR Oranmore

SPAR Oranmore is currently seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Deli Assistants to join our team. We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality hot and cold food products while ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation.

Main Duties

  • Prepare customer orders across all fresh food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, wraps, salads, and hot food

  • Cook, prepare, and display food products throughout the day

  • Ensure deli counters and displays are fully stocked and maintained to a high standard

  • Deliver excellent customer service and assist customers with product queries and recommendations

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures

  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment

  • Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the deli department

  • Support the delivery of a positive shopping experience for customers

Job requirements

  • Previous customer service or food preparation experience (an advantage)

  • HACCP training or food safety knowledge (desirable but not essential)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
