Cook (Part-Time) - SPAR Blackwater

SPAR Blackwater is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cook to join our team on a part-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food products, maintaining excellent food hygiene standards, and supporting the day-to-day operation of the deli and food service area.

The successful candidate must be available to work 2-3 days per week, including weekends as required.

Main Duties

  • Prepare and cook food to company standards

  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and freshness

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures

  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and food preparation area

  • Monitor stock levels and report any shortages to management

  • Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the food department

  • Provide excellent customer service when required

Job requirements

  • Previous cooking or food preparation experience (preferred)

  • HACCP training or knowledge of food safety procedures (desirable)

  • A passion for food and attention to detail

  • Good organisational and time-management skills

  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to use initiative

  • Sound judgement with the ability to make decisions

  • Self-motivated

  • Good attention to detail
